Urban Environmental Specialist | EIA Expert | Low-Carbon Cities Advocate
Pravakar Pradhan is a seasoned expert in Urban Environmental Management and Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA), with over two decades of experience advancing sustainable urban development in Asia. He holds a Master’s degree in Urban Environmental Management from the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT), Thailand, and has served in diverse academic and practitioner roles across Thailand, Nepal, and the wider South Asia region.
At AIT, Pravakar led impactful research on urban land use, water management, air pollution, and climate change. He played a key role in managing low-carbon city projects across ten cities in four Asian countries, helping municipal governments measure and reduce GHG emissions. As a faculty member at AITM Nepal, he taught climate change and EIA, bridging science and practical policy education.
He is also associated with Leadership Academy Nepal (LAN), and as a Physical Environmental Specialist with Nepal’s Ministry of Forest and Environment, Pravakar continues to shape environmental policy, build capacity, and mentor future leaders in sustainable development.
